Located in Elgin, Illinois, just outside Chicago, the Institute of Islamic Education has been a center of Islamic learning, scholarship, and community since 1989. Its 7-acre campus provides a quiet and welcoming environment rooted in tradition and learning.

Traveling from out of town? You can stay directly on-campus at the Institute of Islamic Education for Itikaf or overnight masjid lodging (please bring your own bedding and toiletries and check in with administration upon arrival). Alternatively, several private hotel accommodations are located just a short, 10-minute drive from the facility.

This retreat is designed for new Muslims, reverts, and those who support the revert community — including family members, mentors, and community leaders who wish to better serve reverts.
Registration includes access to all lectures, workshops, mentorship sessions, and meals during the three-day program. I'tikaf is also available — reserve your spot today.
Yes, lodging is available. Participants are welcome to stay overnight on-site, with designated rooms provided for accommodation. Guests who choose to stay should bring their own sleeping bags and any personal bedding they may need. For off-site options, see our nearby hotels list.
Yes, attendees are welcome to come for just a day or even a portion of the program. There are no strict attendance requirements, so you may join for as long or as briefly as you are able. However, we do encourage participants to stay for the full duration of the event to gain the maximum benefit from the experience.
